Can we bring anything to personalise the room for our family member?

Yes of course you can. At Sycamore Lodge we want you to feel as “at home” as possible by bringing anything in to personalise your room that is familiar.


You can even install photographs on the walls in the bedroom and we have a handy person available that can do that for you.

Do you provide activities and what are they?

Yes we do. We provide a full activities programme for you including arts and crafts, sports and meaningful activity you you have dementia.

We will always endeavour to provide activities to you. Should you have a special request please tell us on pre-admission and we can include it within our activities schedule.

How much are the care costs on a weekly basis?

This is usually assessed individually dependent and the amount of care required, however costs start from around £500.00 per week

Do you have a hairdresser that comes to the home?

Yes we have a visiting hairdresser twice a week who will come and see to any requests. The hairdresser can do colouring, perming and basic wash and sets weekly.

Do you arrange outings from the home?

Yes we do. Typical outings arranged to the local and wider community are outings to the local garden centre, local pubs for pub lunches and themed days, country parks and day to day walks around the villages and town centres.

Places of worship are also arranged and visited for those who follow a religious denomination.

Can you assist with short and long term packages and day care?

Yes no problem! Your stay with us at the Sycamore Lodge can be tailored for however long you require.

Respite stays whilst family are away on holiday give peace of mind that your loved ones are safe and secure.

For those who are looking for longer term services, be it through rehabilitation services or referral from social services, you can rest assured that you will be looked after with the upmost dignity and respect at all times.

Can you arrange for newspapers to be delivered?

Yes no problem! We can have our local newsagent deliver you the paper daily direct to the door so you can keep up to date with the latest developments in the news.

Do you provide televisions in the rooms?

Yes we do. All rooms come with a freeview enabled tv and you are free to bring your own tv set with you if you are used to your own from home.

If you wish to install sky television into your own room this can be done but will require arranging with the management and a family member.

Do the rooms have telephone points?

Yes rooms do have telephone points however they would require being connected by your own arrangement directly from BT or your chosen provider.

Should you wish to have a line installed in your room this is also possible but must be arranged by you and your family in conjunction with the provider of the line.

Can we join our family for dinner when we visit?

Yes of course. We welcome any family involvement and what a great way to spend the day visiting your family member dining with them at the home.

We just request that you call a day before you come to visit to ensure we let the catering staff know that you will be joining us for lunch.
