Although her official title is Deputy Manager, Katy routinely acts as the person‑in‑charge at Sycamore Lodge, taking full responsibility whenever my wider duties draw me to other locations. In that capacity she displays a rare blend of integrity, competence, and balanced judgement that keeps the home running smoothly and safeguards both residents and staff.
Katy’s defining quality is her unwavering honesty. She brings issues into the open instead of sidestepping them, confident that transparency is the surest route to resolution. This candour has built deep trust within the team and reassures families that their loved ones’ welfare is in safe hands. Complementing her integrity is a remarkable aptitude for learning: show Katy a procedure once and she immediately masters it, applying the lesson independently whenever a similar case arises. Her quick study frees senior leadership to focus on strategic concerns, knowing day‑to‑day operations are understood and executed to a high standard.
