On the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, we remember and celebrate all those who served during the Second World War.

On VE Day, Winston Churchill delivered several speeches. In one broadcast, he declared, “This is your victory!”. He also reminded the nation that while they could rejoice, the war with Japan was not yet over. In a later speech from a balcony, he again emphasized, “This is your victory!” to which the crowd responded, “No, it’s yours!”.

Residents at Sycamore Lodge remember that unbelievable day from the history.
